| Where did homosexuality come from? Homosexuality came from needs developed during man's spiritual death in Genesis Chapter 3. Two basic needs left unfulfilled are Significance and Security. Significance meaning a purposeful life. Security meaning unconditional love, acceptance and belonging. The story of man's fall tells us that the fulfillment of life was stripped and basic needs were left exposed the moment the fruit was eaten. Adam and Eve then realized they were naked. They felt the nakedness and quickly began to provide for their own needs as they covered themselves with fig leaves. Afterwards, God came and gave them a cover that was much more purposeful. The bible says that the woman consumed the fruit after the crafty serpent (Satan) approached her with temptation. It was at that time that Eve saw the fruit as good, pleasing, and desirable. Eating the fruit caused them to die spiritually. They had rebelled against God who had already told them not to eat from this tree of the knowledge of good and evil warning them that they would die if they ate of it. They had given in to the temptation of Satan. Not only did they give up their lives, but the Bible indicates that the dominion over the earth that was their's was now Satan's. He rules with sin. Isn't it just like us to fulfill our own need with what ever we want? We have been doing that since the beginning of time. It could be drugs, alcohol, pornography, maybe other people even food or whatever. Anything that satifies seems good. Anything that we see as good, pleasing, or desirable. That is what we cover our need with. But God has a greater purpose. He wants to cover us with the righteousness of His own Son, Jesus Christ! By asking for forgiveness, repenting(turning away from sin) and receiving His Son as our Lord and Savior into our spiritually empty hearts, we can step above Satan's sin filled plans and move on with God again. Is homosexuality a sin? In Genesis Chapter1: (v.26) God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and then let them rule........(v.27) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (v.28) God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over....." Chapter 2 gives us the event of God creating man and woman. Chapter 3 reveals the fall of man. God made us in His image, in His likeness. There is no inclination in the entire Bible that God created homosexuality. In the garden, He made all to fulfill all our needs. We had no need of anything before the fall, before Satan. Satan places good ideas on a silver platter and waits for you to take it instead of Jesus. And Jesus is the very Holy Spirit of God who we lost back then - who we need right now to again take back the Life God created within us. A life with significance and security no matter the circumstances we face. After the rule of the earth had been stripped from man, the devil was free to reign. Anything that is out of the purpose of God is sin. And, anything goes as far as Satan is concerned. All throughout the Bible, the act of homosexuality is found to be wrong. God officially declares the act unfit for us and announces His judgement upon it. His plans are greater than us. You felt this way since you were a child? There has not been one scientific study or research that has proven homosexuality to be in born. Now we know why some of us feel like we were born gay. Homosexuality was on the earth before we were born. But, from cover to cover, no where in the Bible does God condone or approve homosexuality. References to homosexuality are Lev.18:22, Lev.20:13, Gen.19:4,5, Judges19:22, Rom.1:26,27, 1Cor.6:9,10. Where did this desire come from? James1:13-15 states that God is not the one who tempts us. By our own evil desires, we are tempted. And we know that evil comes from the devil. He brings out the silver platter and like Eve we see how it seems good, pleasing, and desirable for our need. If you take it, you lose. If you step over it, put it behind you.......you win. Homosexual driven desires come from Satan. Desire was given to us by God. The desire to love, the desire to eat, the desire to succeed, all these desires require a conscious or unconscious decision before satisfying. The decision we make to fulfill that desire is our own, not God's. Some of us may have been driven by our past experiences: Reasons for engaging in same sex relationships is not always for sex. Women: emotional reasons some rooted from childhood absence of bonding with biological mother, no mother figure bad relationship with father Men: emotional reasons some rooted from childhood absence of bonding with biological father, no father figure bad relationship with mother Experiences that drive us to homosexuality: rejection abuse- emotional physical verbal neglect abandonment spiritual abuse(misdirected spiritual authority) sexual molestation early exposure to pornography early sexual experience A man may feel feminine because he is not masculine or as masculine as most men. This does not mean that he is meant to be a woman. God made us all unique and with purpose. In the Bible Jacob was a smooth skin, quiet man who preferred to stay home among the tents but his twin brother Esau was a hairy skinned, skillful hunter, a man of the open country. Jacob was not gay. Nor did he assume that he should have been a woman. He grew to be a man of God and a forefather in the Bible. What we think of our selves is very important. We often give in to what we think of ourselves and what others think of us. Think about it long enough and you end up being what you think. You develop a form of acceptance within yourself. In Revelation 2:18, Jesus said, "I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades." He has taken back dominion for us! We need to be who God created us to be. A people made in His image and in His likeness. Jesus is ready to forgive you, come into your heart and lead you through a new life. |
